Our freedom comes at their expense

All change

This time last week I was waiting in Zurich airport wondering what duty free booze to buy. Today I’m sat in the office working on the project I thought I’d left behind 7 months ago. Our brand spanking new project, the ’savior of the division’ has effectively been shelved, he ho, such is life. I’m now back working on exactly the same bit of code I left all those months ago in spring and it doesn’t feel half bad at all. There’s a strange sense of familiarity creeping back, like when you put on a pair of shoes you haven’t worn for a while, which is not entirely unpleasant. Funny how things turn out.

I’ve booked my flights, so I’m back off to Hong Kong for Chinese new year in February, gives me something great to look forward to. I might even start planning what new lenses to buy over there for my 20D (which doesn’t have a name). I’ve been told Chinese new year will be very quiet during the day, so it should give me an opportunity to get some good shots without a horde of people getting in the frame.
